Jim,
thanks for this! I am curious about the lecture on Mar 7, Face Trauma, sounds interesting. And the one on Feb 7, how do we Recognize Faces. I can just tell the lecturer that i have photographic memory. i can remember most faces, images and film i've come across. I dont know if i want to know "why" and "how". It might take away the magic. Humans are hard-wired to see faces-art historian E.H. Gombrich calls them a "preferred pattern." This series investigates the significance of representations of the human face within contemporary visual culture. Our age-old fascination with the face and its meaning will be explored through a range of interdisciplinary frameworks, including philosophical discourse, popular media, scientific research and cultural production.
