[Hopperxx] Farewell Flash

Hi Danny and all,

Director will always have a special place for me. I included it in a few courses I taught even as its end of life was in sight. I incorporated Flash into one course and subsequently Animate and was planning on using on using Animate again this year. Its role has diminished as have found it more clunky and less stable over the years.

It is sad to see Animate go as another end to the Macromedia software era.

Articles on the end of Animate say Adobe’s focus is on AI. From what I see, they are falling behind in this area. I do commend Adobe for having some ethical framework around their GenAI like training it on content they have permission to use. It does mean their GenAI is limited and it looks like Adobe have admitted to this by the fact that they are giving access to other models through Firefly. So not clear how successful their GenAI strategy will be.
