Andres's drawing machines are on display Thursday July 19-23 at the 
Concourse Gallery at Emily Carr U, along with work by others. Andres showed 
us videos of these at his excellent presentation to the group of x; they're 
very amusing low-tek generative systems involving tech such as cake mixers 
and fans as generative art engines. Check them out at the opening at 6pm on 
Thursday July 19 or in the Concourse Gallery until July 23.

Hi all

In distinct approaches, Luigi Allemano, Judith McNaughton, Minttumaari 
Mäntynen, Joanna Smythe and Andres Wanner showcase works that interrogate 
notions of transformation and hybridity.

Exhibition themes operate around the notion that our perception of the world 
is influenced by mechanisms that extend, enhance, or reinterpret 
subjectivity. Such themes invite the viewer to consider a number of 
questions. How do mediating structures affect our sense of place?  What 
defines experiences across media? In what way can aesthetic artifacts be 
transposed into different modes of experience? What if objects were 
liberated from their original context to become an end in themselves?

July 19 to July 23, 2012
