Greetings.

Please join us for the October session of Processing Vancouver, hosted by VIVO Media Arts.
The meetup will take place on next Tuesday, October 30th, 7-9pm.

We will be featuring three presentations:

1) Image Masks + Recent Work

A presentation by Andres Wanner, who will soon be leaving Vancouver, so we thought to get him in while we still can!
He will present an overview of his Processing work, and talk about the Image Mask class he wrote to draw with bitmap images.

Andres Wanner is a Swiss-Canadian artist, interaction designer and educator. His interest is at the intersection of art and technology – he likes to tinker, invent and to play. A former faculty of Vancouver's School of Interactive Arts and Technology, he holds an MSc in Physics and a BA in Visual Communications, and is currently pursuing another Master’s degree in Applied Arts at Emily Carr.
His work has been exhibited at SIGGRAPH, iDMAa, New Forms Festival, Re-new Festival, Artech, Hyperkult and other international venues. He is also the initiator of the International Pixelstorm-Award and has acted as the arts chair of the Computational Aesthetics conference 2011.
His works deals with systems that generate aesthetic output: drawing machines, robots or generative software. With these he investigates questions of error, precision, and human control over machines.

2) POV: Points Of Vision

A project initiated by VIVO and Brady Marks, POV is a volumetric display aiming to provide artists with a brand new means for creating and displaying works in 3D space.
Those of you that came to the July edition of the P5Van meetup saw Brady present the POV display as it existed then... It has advanced a lot since then, physically and technically.
Come see the current state of the project, and hear about some of the presentations slated for the first round of commissions that VIVO will be exhibiting on Nov 1st-3rd.

3) PWN THE WALL

A presentation by Jesse Scott on PWN THE WALL, an international collaboration between Graffiti Research Lab chapters in Canada, Germany, and South Korea.
A realtime telematic drawing system between three cities, PWN THE WALL aims to collapse geographical and cultural space, enabling new forms of collaboration and digital vandalism.
