Greetings. 

Please join us for the September session of Processing Vancouver, hosted by VIVO Media Arts.
The meetup will take place on Tuesday, September 24th, 7-9pm.

We will be featuring two presentations and a short workshop.
I am super duper excited to be welcoming Matt Gingold to speak, as he is in town working on a project with the estimable Philippe Pasquier for the Urban Screens in Surrey. Matt is one of the main developers behind openFrameworks, and has exhibited code-based artwork worldwide…

1) Matthew Gingold - Recent Work

Matthew Gingold is a media artist, programmer and creative technical consultant. Gingold’s arts practice spans solo and collaborative audio/visual installation and performance, from video design for theatre and dance, interactive and generative exhibition installation to architextural projections, film, documentary and live AV performance. Whilst these contexts vary, reoccurring themes are concerned with chance, synchronicity, complexity, perception, the body and the various meanings ‘live’ and ‘allve’ have within these contexts. Often this is explored through the use of the multiple – it’s differences and repetitions – and through these our connections to identity, the everyday and the sublime.

2) Jesse Scott - The Art Box

The Art Box is a new permanent digital art installation at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver. Created as part of the Studio In The City project by the City of North Vancouver, Jesse Scott led 12 high school students on a two-month long design process to create an interactive video wall that showcases visual art work made by youth artists on the north shore…

3) Processing Vancouver website

I know I've slacked on this - blame the above project ;-) - but I'll have added a Wordpress install behind the index page by tomorrow, and we can start to collectively decide on the back end architecture for the rest of the site (and hand out WP accounts for those that are interested in helping out with the site on an ongoing basis…)
