I'm pleased to announce that Jianyu Fan will be talking to the Group of 
X on Friday October 30 at 7pm.

BIO
*******************

Jianyu Fan is currently a PHD student at School of Interactive Arts and 
Technology,
Simon Fraser University. He holds a Bachelor degree from Beihang 
University and
a Master degree from Dartmouth College. He is interested in the area of 
artificial
intelligence, conducting research aimed at endowing machines with creative
autonomous behaviour. In particular, he focuses on music information 
retrieval
systems, and generative systems for music and videos. He is also a 
composer who
does electronic music composition and algorithmic composition. He has been
playing the piano for 18 years.
