The Director team are holding some teleconferences at the moment, and are open to the idea of rethinking things if a better idea comes up.

I was on a call with them today, and one interesting figure I heard, from the developer of the first Director based app to go into the iTunes store, is that there have been a half million downloads of the game. That ought to compare well against the Flash based apps.
