I left Adobe/Flash Player team in November.

There's a very small market for someone developing a gaming authoring 
platform...Back in 2012 Adobe was looking at providing a gaming/video 
focused engine which would play only the new content (older content 
would fallback to the old version) but we were leaving the development 
of IDEs up to those that wanted to cater to that small specialty 
market.  As you noted, there's already toolsets for creating the games, 
no need to try to squeeze into that small space.
